Darts Average Calculator
3-dart average and 501 pace from scoring.
What it does
Darts averages compress scoring into one number. Points over darts times three gives the 3-dart average behind every broadcast graphic: 301 points in 15 darts is a 60.2 average pacing 25-dart 501 legs. Per-dart rates and leg pace follow from the same division.
The tool above runs all three. Enter points with darts thrown including busts, and it prints the 3-dart average, per-dart rate, and 501-leg pace. A 501-in-20 leg scores 75.15 while 16 darts gives 93.94.
Federations set the legs behind the math. WDF rules run 501 straight start with double finishes including bull, PDC formats alternate 3-dart visits with the same out rules, and stats guides work identical examples: 501/20 for 75.15 and 501/16 for 93.94.
Busts count in averages even as scores reset. Visits that bust still burned three darts of opportunity, so honest tracking includes them. Max visits cap at 180; televised records touch the 120s across matches.

Questions
How is the average figured?
Points over darts times 3. Here 301/15 x 3 = 60.2.
What are the leg rules?
501 legs start, max 3 darts per visit, double out with bust rules per WDF.
Do bust visits count darts?
Yes. Bust visits still count all darts thrown in common scoring practice.
What is the max visit?
Treble 20 times 3: 180 maximum per visit.
What is 501 pace?
Ceiling of 501 over per-dart rate. Here ceil(24.97) = 25 darts.
Do match averages work the same?
Yes. Match averages roll up the same way across legs: total points over darts times 3.
