US Daylight Saving Dates Calculator
Spring forward and fall back dates for any year 2007 to 2100.
What it does
US daylight saving time stretches from the second Sunday of March to the first Sunday of November, about 238 days or 65% of the year. Clocks jump 2:00 to 3:00 in spring and repeat 1:00 to 2:00 in fall, moving an hour of daylight into the evening.
The tool above takes any year 2007 to 2100 and returns both changeover Sundays with the day count. The default 2026 starts Sun Mar 08 and ends Sun Nov 01 for 238 days.
Rules follow NIST time pages with the statute behind them: the Energy Policy Act of 2005 moved the start from April first Sunday to March second Sunday and the end from October last Sunday to November first Sunday. Title 15 section 260a prints the same second Sunday and first Sunday clauses.
Exceptions ride along every year. Most of Arizona plus Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands skip the switch, so travelers check local observance before trusting the dates.
How to use
- Type a year from 2007 to 2100.
- Read spring forward first, fall back beside it.
- Move clocks at 2:00 local on each date.
- Plan sleep: spring loses an hour, fall repeats one.
- Check Arizona, Hawaii, and territory exceptions.
- Pair with a weekday page for event planning.
Formula
- 2nd Sunday
- March changeover, 8th through 14th.
- 1st Sunday
- November changeover, 1st through 7th.
- 238
- Typical DST day count, about 65% of the year.
UTC Sunday math keeps time zones from shifting dates. Pre-2007 years use older April and October rules and stay out of range.
Worked example
Example: 2026

- November: the 1st is Sunday, so 1st Sunday is Nov 01.
- End: Nov 01, 02:00 back to 01:00.
- Days: day 305 minus day 67 is 238.
- Tool shows both Sundays with 238 days.
